AI Search Optimisation

Be the source AI cites, not the result it replaces

Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) ensures your brand appears when users ask ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Bing Chat. We make your content the answer, not an afterthought.

/ 01 — THE PROBLEM

The Visibility Challenge

Search is changing faster than most businesses can keep up with. AI-generated answers now sit at the top of results pages, ChatGPT responds directly to questions, and platforms like Perplexity cite sources without users ever needing to click through. There was a time when ranking was all about winning the click; that time is nearly behind us.

The organisations that adapt ahead of the curve will end up being the sources that AI learns to trust, while those that wait risk losing visibility as AI tools prioritise competitors’ content, and their traffic drops.

GEO is the evolution of SEO. Think about how you search, two, three or four keywords and expect Google to figure out what we want. AI fetches results using long, precise, contextual queries. We're lazy. AI isn't. This means optimising for AI requires a completely different approach.

The three forces killing traditional SEO

AI overview displacement

AI-generated answers replace traditional search results, reducing click-through rates. Without optimisation, your competitors dominate the AI answer.

Zero-click search

Users increasingly get what they need from summaries. Ranking factors alone don't determine visibility anymore, so your content needs to be ready for citation.

The AI crawler gap

Large language models can't use what they can't access, meaning that without the right configuration, your content may not be discoverable by AI systems at all.

/ 02 — WHAT WE DO

Our approach to optimise your visibility in AI

We start from the top, optimising your content for the way that AI systems process information: machine-readable and fact first so it’s easy to extract. This works differently to traditional SEO, which still has its place. GEO requires a deep understanding of how LLMs (large language models) work, and when done properly it’s designed to complement your existing SEO, not replace it.

/ 03 — HOW WE DO IT

How we do it

Our work focuses on three core layers, each of which addresses a different part of how AI systems engage with your content.

Access layer

We configure llms.txt, robots.txt, APIs, and platform-specific settings so AI crawlers can reach your content.

Content layer

We restructure key pages with clear formatting, Q&A structures, and modular sections that AI can extract and use directly.

Authority layer

We build credibility through author expertise, third-party validation, and strong trust signals that increase your likelihood of being cited.

/ 04 — IN PRACTICE

Real-world applications

Here’s what this looks like in practice.

Bravr.ai GEO implementation

We apply GEO to our own site first, using it as a live testing environment. This includes llms.txt configuration, structured schema, citation-ready content, and strong author attribution.

Content quality audits for AI readiness

Our content audits go beyond traditional SEO; we assess structure, clarity, fact density, and schema to determine how ready your content is for AI citation.

GEO audit tool

We've developed a tool that tracks how often your brand is cited by AI platforms, benchmarks your visibility against competitors, and shows how performance improves over time.

/ 05 — FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How is GEO different from regular SEO?
Traditional SEO focuses on ranking in search engine results pages. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) is about being selected, cited, and summarised by AI systems like ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews. It prioritises structured, authoritative, and extractable content over just keyword ranking.
How long until we see results in AI search?
Early signals can appear within a few weeks, especially once content is restructured and accessible to AI crawlers. More meaningful impact, like consistent citations or inclusion in AI-generated answers, typically builds over 2–3 months as authority signals strengthen.
Do we need to rebuild our entire site?
No. In most cases, we optimise what you already have. This includes restructuring key pages, improving formatting, adding schema, and strengthening authority signals. A full rebuild is only needed if there are major technical limitations.
What's required from our team on the technical side?
Very little. We typically need light support for access (e.g. CMS, analytics, or dev environment) and occasional implementation of technical elements like schema or API configurations. Most of the work sits on our side.
How do you measure success with AI search?
Crunching the data, and working out what it's telling us is central to GEO. We track a mix of indicators, including inclusion in AI-generated answers, citation frequency and quality, visibility in AI search features (e.g. summaries, overviews), and changes in high-intent traffic and conversions. It's less about rankings, and more about presence and influence within AI outputs.
What if we already have a strong SEO strategy?
That's a strong start, but you'll still need to do some work for optimised GEO. GEO builds on SEO, it doesn't replace it. We adapt your existing content and authority to make it AI-friendly, ensuring you don't just rank well, but also get referenced and surfaced in AI-generated responses.

Ready to get cited?

We'll audit your AI visibility, show you where you stand against competitors, and build a GEO strategy that makes your content the source AI trusts.
